Palmetto Bay Business Association

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

This first thursday of the month is the lunch meeting for the PBBA and it falls on April 1st. Even though it is April Fools day, there is no fooling around for this fun networking business organization that is very hands on.  There are many types of businesses represented and a  mixture of small and large businesses in the community.  No, you do not have to have a location in Palmetto Bay to come.  It is held at Flemings restaurant at 8511 SW 136 street and the price is $15 for members and $20 for visitors.  The lunch is always great and there is time before and after to meet people individually.  Networking starts at 11:30 and the meeting promptly at 12 noon so we are out by 1 pm.  We have a guest speaker and also make time for EVERYONE there to introduce themselves and their businesses to the 90 people in the room.  It is a relaxing group of friendly people who pass out alot of cards and look to do business with each other.

I, Pam Mayers,  am on the board and we really try to encourage business to do business with each other and are always looking for interesting speakers our members would appreciate.  We plan a few social events like happy hours and a big picnic in July. I would encourage you to come and check out the organization.  If you would like to belong the charge is around $100, depending on the month you join.  With times becoming harder,  I have seen this association really take off as owners get personally involved in promoting thier businesses in this very inexpensive way.  Everyone takes lunch–you might as well make it productive and write it off tax wise.

Please come and visit and I look forward to seeing you there!!

Waterfront Living at it’s Finest! Open House 5-7

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Sunsets in Miami are one of the nicest perks of living in the tropics-especially this time of year.  I’m doing a wine and cheese open house from 5-7 today, Sunday March 28,  at 13724 SW 92 Ct on E-Lake.  This house reminds me of the new modern waterfront penthouses on Biscayne but instead of 1200 sq ft you get 5700 sq ft.  And let’s not forget the beach, the dock, and truly the best view of the lake is just a few steps away.

Enjoying the weather year round is easy from this home.  Jump in your boat-electric boat lift-take the kids out skiing for great excercise and cruise around this large motorized lake.  There is a covered summer kitchen on the dock for barbequing with steps going down from the dock into the inviting clear water.

The house has been completely updated with the finest of details you would expect for $2,249,000.  Large decorative moldings, Italian Walnut European Kitchen with Breakfast room, Huge 30 ft ceilings in the Great room and dining room, fireplace can be gas or wood, split bedroom plan are just the begining of the features.  I love the Greek marble floors and the 3 porches on both levels of the home that are covered so regardless of the sun you can relax outside year round.

Lots of views from every room with impact glass and doors all along the back of the home.  So come and visit this Waterfront home that will make you feel like you are in a resort-like retreat as soon as you have arrived home.  If you can’t make it today call me or Vicki for a private tour!!

Taste of Pinecrest is Today!!

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Taste of Pinecrest is at Pinecrest Gardens(Red Road and SW 112 Street) and is a wonderful family day!! It is free but the children rides are a nominal charge-buy a bracelet and they can play all day.  There are various restaurants that give out a taste of their most popular food for a small charge. In between the restaurants there are businesses you might be interested in. Only 14 restaurants and 14 business are allowed so it is easy to walk around and see everything!

Yes, I will be there representing EWM real estate. I am the #1 table so you have to come by and say “HI”. Vicky and Alexander Restivo are also hosting the table with me. This year is our second and we are giving away free starbuck cards for the most interesting real estate questions that our customers can ask us.

The nice part of supporting  this event is all monies raised go to the 5 public schools in the Pinecrest School District.  Just for your info–they are Pinecrest Elementary, Palmetto Elementary, and Howard Drive Elementary, Palmetto Middle and Palmetto High School.  This is put on by the Pinecrest Business Association that meets the third Tuesday of every month at Evelyn Greer park-the park at 124 street and almost us1.  You can come for lunch at 11:30 and everyone gives out cards and mingles.  It is out about 1:15 and it is a great way to meet  people that might want to do business with you or vice versus.  I am on the Board and it is run very efficiently.  I also helped out the committee for the Taste of Pinecrest.  There is alot of planning involved and we meet months in advance to solicit restaurants and businesses.  This year it was a bit harder because of the economy but people seem to be networking much more.  The schools PTA’s help sell raffle tickets too.  The raffle tickets are a great buy this year.  Only $5 or 5 for $20 and their are LOTS of  prizes you would actually want and use!!

So we all feel this amazing weather that makes you want to stay outside all day–Now you can!  Ride your bikes for even more fun and excercise!

Remember you can always call me for any questions.  I do alot of short sales and there are many misconceptions about what is involved! SEE YOU THERE!-Pam
